Definition
RFQ means Request for Quote. An AI RFQ agent is software — usually LLM-assisted — that turns that email (or chat) into a structured quote draft faster than a person starting from a blank message.
What good agents do
- Ignore non-freight mail via triage
- Parse origin, destination, weight, dates, language
- Price from your historical lanes
- Draft in the client’s language
- Expose analysis for the operator
- Wait for Send
What they are not
They are not a freight exchange. They are not a full TMS. They are not a license to auto-email every lead. Treat them as a fast junior on the desk.
